The fans in the stadium who witnessed the match between Rivers United against SKE Football club brought out series of placards displaying different captions such as:
“Eguma Must Go”, ” You are not here on merit, how long will Governor wike cover/save you? Are you not shamed, “you used our taxes to empower outsiders, how many riverine did you sign? Your a wicked man, “five years in the wilderness, yet we cannot reach the promise land, nothing to show !!! ”
Several captions were displayed by several fans of Rivers United at the stadium demanding for the sack of coach stanley Eguma saying he is not here by merit , they deserve a better coach who can win trophies for state.
Speaking to one of the fan who spoke with www.footballlive.ng categorically said .
“We don’t want him again, ever since the inception of the club, we have not achieved any trophy till date , we are still looking for trophy and he’s the most highest earning coach in the country, yet there is nothing to show for his 3 years in coaching in regards to Rivers United “. It seems the days of long serving coach as far as elite team in port is concern.
