Former England international, John Fashanu has cautioned Nigeria’s Super Eagles not to go complacent after back to back wins over Seychelles and Liberia.
According to him, the journey to 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is not yet sorted out.
The Eagles recently picked up a 3-0 victory over Seychelles in the 2019 AFCON qualifiers and a 2-1 friendly win against Liberia in Monrovia
“The Super Eagles have done well with two recent victories against Seychelles and Liberia. They are on course in achieving their desired objective. The boys must not underrate any team,” Fashanu told Footballlive.ng.
“The win at Seychelles put them back in reckoning to qualify for AFCON 2019 and the one recorded against Liberia was a good way for the technical crew to test new players in friendly situation.”
“I feel there is more from them as they try to qualify for the Nations Cup in 2019. The journey has just started. They need to put more effort.”
Nigeria currently occupy third position in the Group E of the 2019 AFCON qualifiers with three points from two games. Also in the group are Libya, South Africa and Seychelles.
