FC Ufa chiefs have confirmed Arsenal’s interest in Igor Diveev.
Diveev is expected to be the next exciting talent to be cashed by Ufa. The young defender attracted enquiries from the Gunners last summer.
“I am not surprised that European clubs are interested in him, including Arsenal,” said general manager Shamil Gazizov.
“Diveev is a young footballer who is still developing. He has certain qualities that need to be developed further. It is too early for him to think about Arsenal or another club.
“It is his goal to get a foothold at Ufa, only to leave after that. We see that he is ready to join us at our level.”
However, Gazizov does not dare to exclude a departure for the Russia Under-20 international.
“Never say never. Everything is possible in football.”
