Fidelis Ilechukwu Acknowledges Challenges in Defending NPFL Title

Date:

Rangers Technical Adviser, Fidelis Ilechukwu, has admitted that defending the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title will be a difficult challenge after the Flying Antelopes secured their eighth NPFL title last season.

In a recent statement to Rangers media, Ilechukwu assured that his coaching crew is committed to presenting a strong team for the new season. Rangers resumed preparations on Wednesday, focusing on both the NPFL and the CAF Champions League.

“We are looking forward to having all the players back in camp while we start on a positive note so that the team will present a very strong team in the CAF Champions League,” Ilechukwu said. “We know fully well that we have lost some players in the team and we want to make sure we present a strong team for the new season.”

Ilechukwu acknowledged the inherent difficulties in staying at the top, emphasizing that the task ahead is more challenging than when they won the league last season. “We will work out a strategy and see what we can do. It’s not going to be easy because it looks like it was when we won the league last season. It’s going to be very difficult to stay at the top,” he added.

The Flying Antelopes are determined to overcome these challenges and continue their successful run in both domestic and continental competitions.
