Fidelis Ilechukwu, the dynamic coach of Rangers International Football Club, has expressed his ambition to build on the team’s recent success following their triumphant campaign in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for the 2023/24 season. The victory marked Rangers’ eighth NPFL title, their first since 2016, and set the stage for the club to represent Nigeria in the prestigious CAF Champions League next season.
Under Ilechukwu’s guidance, the “Flying Antelopes” clinched the NPFL title with a decisive 2-1 victory over Gombe United in their final match of the season. The win solidified Rangers’ position at the top of the league, capping off a stellar season characterized by strong performances and resilience.
“This is a great day for all of us in Rangers, and we give God the glory,” Ilechukwu said after the match.
“This is a victory for the government and people of Enugu State who supported us through thick and thin till we got to where we are today as champions of the Nigeria Premier Football League.”
“We hope to get a few legs to add to this team to challenge for both domestic and continental honours next season effectively,” Ilechukwu said, signaling his intent to bolster the squad with new talent.
