Rangers’ technical adviser, Fidelis Ilechukwu, has thrown his support behind the newly appointed Super Eagles head coach, Finidi George, emphasizing that Finidi’s success will not only benefit him but also enhance the reputation of local coaches.
Ilechukwu stressed that Finidi’s appointment is a testament to the capabilities of indigenous coaches to lead the Super Eagles effectively. He expressed confidence in Finidi’s ability to excel in his new role and highlighted the collective responsibility of Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) coaches to support him.
“Finidi must succeed, we are all praying for him because his appointment doesn’t only involve him; it involves NPFL coaches too,” he stated in an interview with Football Temple.
“If Finidi fails, the NPFL coaches have failed because I don’t think we will have that type of chance again as NPFL coaches. That’s why we are praying for his success.
“All NPFL coaches are going to support him. I believe he has the qualities, capacity, and everything needed in a coach to succeed with the Super Eagles.”
Ilechukwu’s endorsement underscores the collective aspirations of local coaches for Finidi’s success and their commitment to rallying behind him as he takes charge of the national team.
