Enyimba head coach, Finidi George, has reaffirmed the club’s commitment to defending their title this season. The Aba giants secured a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Sunshine Stars in Akure last Sunday, maintaining their position in second place on the table.
Chidiebere Nnachi’s second-half equalizer proved crucial for Enyimba, reducing the gap between them and league leaders, Rangers, to just two points.
Speaking to the club’s official website after the match, Finidi expressed his optimism and determination, saying, ”After securing this point, we will build on it and focus on winning our home matches. At Enyimba, we never give up, and we will continue to push until the end of the season.”
He further added, “We are aware that other teams are also striving to secure victories, but this point will definitely go a long way in our quest to retain the title.”
Enyimba’s next fixture will be against Katsina United, and the team will be looking to capitalize on their recent performance and secure a win to maintain their title challenge as the season reaches its embers.
