Finidi George as officially been unveiled as the new head coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The former Super Eagles forward was unveiled by the Sport Minister at an event in Abuja attended by the leaders of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) on kMonday morning.
“Any country I find an indigenous coach sitting on the bench, I always feel very proud and I am glad that we have an opportunity that have a Nigerian coach, Finidi George, as football men national team coach,” Enoh said during the unveiling.
The NFF announced the appointment of Finidi as Super Eagles coach two weeks ago, but they did not reveal the specifics of the deal. However, they made it official on Monday, as they held an unveiling event to present Finidi as the new coach.
The 53 years old signed his 1 year contract at the event where the President of the NFF Ibrahim Gusau and the Sports minister John Enoh.
Finidi will be assisted by his former Super Eagles teammate Daniel Amokachi, while Olatunji Baruwa will serve as the goalkeeper trainer.
