Finidi George’s Rivers United Maintains Unbeaten Run

Date:

El-Kanemi Warriors and Rivers United both earned important away victories on Matchday 3 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) on Saturday.

At the Lafia City Stadium, Rivers United continued their unbeaten streak under head coach Finidi George, claiming a 1-0 win over Lobi Stars.

Kabir Abdullahi’s 72nd-minute penalty sealed the result, keeping Finidi’s side unbeaten after three games.

However, Finidi wasn’t concerned about the means of the victory.

“Every victory, we will take it. It’s just a game. This is nothing. We have to go back and prepare for the next game.”

”That’s the Philosophy.”

“It’s going to be a difficult game, but I commend the boys for their effort today.”

Meanwhile, at the New Jos Stadium, Nasarawa United’s Nasiru Saliba scored the first hatrick of the 2024/25 season but bottled this advantage and suffered a defeat.
