Super eagles gaffer, Finidi George has said that the team would have to regroup after the recent setback. Nigeria suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to Benin Republic in their fourth matchday of their world cup qualifying series.
Finidi said that they will be looking forward to the remaining games, and observe how the players can best be implemented. He added that commitment is crucial to the progress of the team.
“Yeah, it’s to win, but there’s no special formula for that. We have to see how the players will start the new season and see how we can get the best out of the players. So everybody must be committed. I think with that commitment we’ll win games. I believe we’re going to win games”, said the gaffer.
He also mentioned that the team can not throw in the towel now, and must remain in the fight.
“And if we can win games, the battle will still be there. So we can’t throw in the towel, because we’ve had only three points. We have to find a way to get these players back in a way for them to perform”, the gaffer added.
The team now are currently fifth in group C with 3 points from 4 games played, and could be sixth if Zimbabwe win their upcoming fourth game.
