Flamingos head coach, Bankole Olowookere, has announced a squad of 25 players for the upcoming 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Burkina Faso.
The Nigerian U-17 girls are set to face Burkina Faso in the first leg of the qualifier on May 11, with the return fixture scheduled to take place at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
The winner of the two-legged tie will secure one of Africa’s three slots to qualify for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, which will be hosted by the Dominican Republic.
Among the players summoned to camp are Nwachukwu Prisca, Adebayo Jumai, Adegoke Khadija, Ibrahim Ayoade, Olowookere Oluwatoyin, Azeez Rokibat, and Okezie Onyedikachi. Additionally, Afolabi Taiwo, Aderemi Mary, Moshood Shakira, Isiaka Ololade, Abdulwahab Farida, and Joseph Queen are among those invited.
The 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup is scheduled for October 16 to November 3, 2024.
The Flamingos, Nigeria’s U-17 women’s team, aim to step up from the previous edition of the competition where they settled for a bronze medal and secure qualification for the upcoming tournament.
