Former Sokoto United Denies Allegations from Former Employer

Date:

Former Sokoto United head coach, Mansur Abdullahi has strongly denied the allegations made against him by his former employer, claiming they were a ploy to justify his dismissal.

Abdullahi, who was recently sacked by NPFL side, Sokoto United, criticized the club’s actions as unprofessional and contrary to the principles of the game.

Addressing the allegations, Abdullahi said, “How can someone claim that my absence from the Federation Cup match in Lafia affected the team’s performance when they gave me a suspension letter on April 26, and the match was on May 1? How could I attend the match?”

He further questioned the club’s claims, stating, “Surprisingly, the letter mentioned I was not available for the match with Malumfashi. How come I was beaten by Malumfashi fans? I really cannot understand what they mean.”

Abdullahi also pointed out his issues with the Commissioner for Sports, who he claimed frequently attempted to dictate the team lineup, which Abdullahi refused, leading to accusations of insubordination.
