Former Super Eagles Captain, Returns to NPFL

Date:

Kano Pillars head coach, Usman Abdallah, has confirmed that Super Eagles stars Ahmed Musa and Shehu Abdullahi have joined the team and are in contention for Sunday’s NPFL match against Sunshine Stars.

Abdallah revealed that both players have been training with the squad for some time now.

Ahmed Musa, who has been without a club since leaving Sivasspor, hinted at a return to the Nigerian league last month, fueling speculation about his reunion with Kano Pillars.

“Musa has been training with the team for a while,” Abdallah disclosed.

Shehu Abdullahi, who left Levski Sofia in 2023, has also not played competitive football since then but has been welcomed back to Pillars, where he first played in 2012.

Although both players’ return has been celebrated, it is unclear if they were officially registered for the new season, as the NPFL transfer window closed last month.
