Former Super Eagles Safe Hands, Ike Shorunmu Praises Talented and Consistent Theophilus Afelokhai

Date:

Former Super Eagles goalkeeper and coach in his recent conversation with footballive has not hidden his admiration for the obviously talented and consistent Enyimba International goalkeeper, Theophilus Afelokhai

He told footballlive.ng , “I think he [Theophilus Afelokhai] deserves a call up to the Super Eagles.”

The vastly experienced Afelokhai was in goal for the CAF Champion League semi final with Kano Pillars two season ago and his form in the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup group stage and quarterfinals was vital in Enyimba’s qualification for the Semifinals.

Afelokhai was particularly outstanding for the People’s Elephant in the CAF Confederation Cup away match against Djoliba AC, Mali and in the away match against Rayon Sports, Rwanda.

Ike Shorunmo also used the opportunity to call for the Enyimba International inclusion in the Super Eagles set up because he feels the goalkeeper has proven himself enough to deserve an invitation from Coach Rohr to the Super Eagles.

The former Super Eagles goalkeeper concluded by saying there was no better ways to encourage hard work among home based players than inviting a player like Theophilus Afelokahi
