Gernot Rohr has hinted that young goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho will get more game time in the friendly matches already lined up for the Super Eagles ahead of the world “to give him more competition.”
Uzoho, who plays for Spain’s Segunda division B side Real Club Deportivo Fabril, is likely to start against Poland in the friendly on 23 March.
Rohr stated that the friendlies will not be about the results, but about given opportunities to newly invited players and importantly finding “the spirit of the team, the unity and our teamwork.”
“These matches are not about the results. These matches are made to work on different opportunities to see new players; we’ve invited new striker, a new midfielder, we’ll give more competition to our young goalkeeper.
“It’s very important to also find again the spirit of the team, the unity and our teamwork,” the gaffer told brila.net
