Nigerian forward, George Ilenikhena becomes the youngest player to score for Monaco in the UEFA Champions League, breaking Mbappe’s record.
He score the winning goal to hand La Liga giants, Barcelona their first goal of the season at Stade Louis II, on Thursday night.
This is also the Nigerian-French first goal for the Ligue 1 club side.
The match kicked off with Maghnes Akliouche putting Monaco ahead with a spectacular solo effort.
He penetrated Barcelona’s defence and fired a shot from inside the box into the bottom right corner past Marc-André ter Stegen.
Barcelona quickly equalised through Lamine Yamal, with a powerful strike from just outside the box, leveling the scoreline for the visitors.
The 18-year-old again, on a counter-attack slotted the ball past ter Stegen from close range, securing a 2-1 victory for Monaco.
George Ilenikhena joined Monaco from Royale Antwerp for a reported fee of €18.75 million, where scored eight goals in 37 matches for the Belgian side.
