Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard has showered accolades on his latest signing at Glasgow Rangers of Scotland, Sadiq Umar, as he says the lad on loan from AS Roma of Italy is ready to take his career to the next level.
Speaking against the backdrop of Umar’s arrival on loan from Roma, Gerrard beamed that the Rio 2016 Olympic Games bronze medallist is a player of huge potentials who is ready to move to the next level, after doing well last term in Holland with NAC Breda.
Though Gerrard admitted Umar will face challenges of a new environment and different tactics to what he has been used to in Italy and Holland, the player-turned-gaffer believes his new signing has enough talent to make a mark with The Gers and even in future.
Gerrard stressed that Umar is ready to take his career to the next level and believes the lad will do even better than he had with Breda last season.
He remarked: “He’s a player of huge potentials who is ready to move to the next level. He did fantastically well in Holland.”
