Golden Eaglets head coach Manu Garba has set his sights on reaching the final of the WAFU B U-17 Championship in Accra, Ghana.
The tournament’s two finalists will secure spots in the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.
Garba’s team, who won the title two years ago in Ghana, are eager to defend the title. In a recent interview, the head coach expressed his satisfaction in his team’s focus and preparation.
“The players have been responding to training. The weather is similar to what we experienced in Abuja before our departure. Our primary objective is to get one of the two tickets from here to the Africa U17 Cup of Nations. We will focus on the matches one at a time. For now, we are focused on our opening game against Burkina Faso on Thursday,” he told thenff.com.
The Golden Eaglets will begin their title defense against Burkina Faso at the University Stadium on Thursday. Their second game is against Niger Republic on Sunday, May 19, followed by their final group match against Togo on Wednesday, May 22.
