Benue State Football Association (BSFA) Chairman, Chief Barr. Paul Edeh, says he’s still in shock after gunmen, suspected to be assassins, invaded his Abuja residence on Sunday.
The armed men broke into Edeh’s residence in the early hours of Sunday, making away with valuables worth millions of naira. Edeh, who confirmed that the FCT Police Command through Asokoro Divisional Headquarters has been informed about the incident, said:
“I’m still in shock because such an attack targeting only my house is unbelievable. It was around 6 am when I received a call from Abuja informing me that my house had been burgled, my room ransacked, and my laptops, which contained numerous documents and information, stolen.
“The intruders also took my wife’s and children’s phones, along with other valuables. The incident has been reported to the FCT Police.”
It should be noted that the Benue FA executive was away in his state to offer condolences to the family of the late Chairman of the Apa Local Football Council Area and to inaugurate an ongoing U17 Grassroots Football Tournament.
