Heartland of Owerri have turned their focus on the restart of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) this weekend, following their mid-season tour of Turkey.
During their trip to Turkey, The Naze Millionaires played four matches, of which they won three and drew one, much to the delight of their supporters, who are now expecting the team to enact a better run when they return to domestic league action.
The NPFL first stanza did not go well for the NPFL returnees, such that even a change of coaches could not stem the tide and the club is still battling against relegation.
However, a post on social media by the Owerri-based side hinted at better things to come, following their 1-0 win over Tractor Sazi, 4-1 spanking of Boluspor, 3-1 defeat of Osmanlispor and 2-2 draw with Karabukspor.
Heartland’s media department stated: “We’ve had a great time in Turkey. Now, we turn our attention to #NPFL18 Matchday 25.”
