With the transfer window closing in less than 48 hours, Victor Osimhen’s future remains unresolved.
Italian football administrator Pietro Lo Monaco has criticized Osimhen over the handling of his transfer from Napoli.
Osimhen’s departure from Napoli has been one of Europe’s most contentious issues, dragging on since the end of last season.
Despite Osimhen’s clear intention not to continue with the club and Napoli securing his replacement, no deal has materialized due to the high transfer fee demanded.
Osimhen has not featured for Napoli this season, missing their Coppa Italia match against Modena and Serie A games against Verona and Bologna.
Lo Monaco has expressed his frustration with the situation, stating,
“The market sets the price, it all depends on whether the president decides to accept or not. His (Osimhen) management has been a joke, it is inconceivable that a player would dare to refuse to play,” Lo Monaco said, per Calcio Napoli.
As the transfer deadline of August 30 approaches, the resolution of Osimhen’s situation remains uncertain.
