KRC Genk forward Tolu Arokodare is making waves in the Belgian First Division A, currently sitting atop the league as a joint leading scorer in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.
With 6 goals in 8 games this season, he has been instrumental in Genk’s success, as they sit on top of the table with 19 points
Reflecting on his achievements, Arokodare shared his thoughts with HBVL, as reported by Voetbal Primeur:
“It shows that I do certain things well. Hopefully, I can score even more.
It wasn’t my best goal, but that doesn’t matter. A goal is a goal,” he said.
Describing the play, he added, “I headed the ball, after which it ended up in a mess. That’s how the ball came back to me and I was able to score.
It was an individual goal, but the most important thing is that I helped the team. By scoring goals, or by doing other things that benefit the team.”
Arokodare’s journey at Genk has been marked by steady improvement.
After a challenging first season, where he netted just 10 goals in 34 matches, he found his stride last year, finishing with 15 goals in 52 appearances.
