President of the Nigeria football federation Amaju Melvin Pinnick says he does not regret making public the decision of the federation to recall suspended chief coach of the Super Eagles Salisu Yusuf after the expiration of his one year ban from all football activities.
Pinnick made this known after the novelty match between foremost whatsapp group for Akwa Ibom state journalists and in Diaspora Akwa Ibom Sports Arena and the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) selected team at the training pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International stadium in Uyo.
The CAF first vice president says everyone deserves a second chance and the same should be accorded Salisu Yusuf who erred. “I don’t have any regret on what I said about Salisu Yusuf because even Jesus Christ said let him who is not guilty cast the first stone. When somebody repents you take him in and make him a better person so I don’t have any regret and I will say it again and that is the position of the Nigeria Football Federation.”
Salisu Yusuf was suspended by the NFF after the Ethics committee of the federation found him guilty of receiving a cash offer of $1, 000 from journalists posing as football agents to influence player’s selection for the 2018 African Nations Championships (CHAN).
