AC Milan’s manager, Stefano Pioli, has shed light on his decision to bench Samuel Chukwueze during their recent clash against Juventus on Saturday.
The Super Eagles player, who has been in impressive form for the Rossoneri in recent matches, was expected in the starting lineup against the Bianconeri. However, Pioli opted to go for Pulisic instead.
Pioli explained the reason for his actions as the need for an additional midfielder on the field, opting for Christian Pulisic over Chukwueze for the Juventus encounter.
“I liked Pulisic (vs Juventus) instead. Chukwueze is also fine, but at the moment I won’t give up an extra midfielder to play with 4 attacking players and therefore he is the one sacrificed the most at the moment,” Pioli stated in a recent interview.
