Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has mentioned the probability of being teary when it is time to part ways with the Serie A giants.
The Nigerian international, who is likely to leave Napoli this summer, exposed this in a recent interview. While Osimhen’s next club is not yet revealed, he is reportedly worth a transfer fee of around €120 million as a result of a clause in the new contract he signed last December.
Osimhen’s his strong bond with the fans. The 25-year-old played an important in their Serie A triumph last season, winning the highest goal scorer netting 26 goals in 32 league appearances becoming a cult hero among the fans.
In his recent interview, Osimhen described his love for Napoli fans for their support and labelled them as the best in the world. He appreciated the unique atmosphere the fans always create at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
“For me, it’s a fantastic feeling. In some clubs, it’s the history that creates the identity, but in Naples, it’s the fans who make the team what it is,” Osimhen remarked.
He explained the emotional bond between players and supporters, understanding why past legends had tears in their eyes when leaving Naples. He described how proud he was hearing his name chanted from the stands throughout the match.
“In Naples, it’s an extraordinary emotion to play in the stadium and hear your name shouted from the first minute to the 90th, supporting the team and cheering,” Osimhen expressed.
