Footballlive.ng gathered that Idowu was among the array of senior players at the Russian railway-owned club, who were aghast after news hit them that the youngster was frozen to death.
Details of the report out of Idowu’s club indicate that investigation into the cause of the youngster’s demise are in motion, while all the players will hold a minute of silence in their next match.
Officials at Idowu’s club on Monday confirmed the death of the under-21 team player, Aleksey Lomakin, adding that investigations are being carried out to confirm the cause.
Early reports suggest that the 18-year-old was found frozen to death in the Moscow district of Brateyevo on Monday morning, though nothing was immediately confirmed about how it occurred.
Initial concerns were raised by the player’s mother on November 30, when Lomakin had left for the club’s medical centre before joining a friend for a night out.
