Igbekeme Heads To Real Zaragoza

A 22-year-old Nigerian midfielder, James Omonigho Igbekeme has secured a summer transfer to Spanish second division side, Real Zaragoza from Gil Vincente of Portugal.

Igbekeme is joining the Spanish side from the ‎lower division Portuguese club for a fee in the region of €360,000 which breaks his deal which was meant to run till the summer of 2020.

He will become the next Nigerian to star for Zaragoza, who once had former Super Eagles striker, Ikechukwu Uche on their cards.

Comfortable as a left winger or as an attacking midfielder, he worked his way up from the U19 of another Portuguese side called Ribeirao before moving to Oliveirense from where he moved to Gil Vincente on a free transfer last year.

Last season he scored five goals from 32 games in even though Gil Vicente once again failed to gain promotion to the top division in Portugal.
