FC Ufa of Russia attacker, Sylvester Emeka Igbonu (Sly) led Nigeria’s less fancied players in a rain of goals last weekend, as the former Super Eagles invitee helped his side to a 2-1 win against visiting Mettalurg Krasnoyask.
Footballlive.ng can report that Igbonu hit the match winner for Ufa in the 69th minute of play, for his second goal of the season in the Russian Premier League, and Ufa are now 13th on the table with nine points from eight games.
Joining Igbonu in the rain of goals by Nigeria’s ‘undercard’ players were Samuel Emem Eduok in Turkey and Moses Ogbu in Sweden.
Ogbu grabbed the equalizer for IK Sirius FK in the 49th minute at home against IFK Norrkoping, thereby helping his side up to 13th on the table with 20 points from 24 matches.
On the other hand, Eduok’s goal for Kasimpasa was not enough to save his side from falling 4-2 away to Trabzonspor, whose Super Eagles midfielder, Eddie Ogenyi Onazi got a yellow card.
