Changchun Yatai of China striker, Odion Jude Ighalo cannot wait to get back to his club after the international break, as he will go all out to better his personal highest goals scoring record in a single season.
Footballlive.ng can report that Ighalo will target a new personal record in the next fixture of the Chinese Super League, after equaling his former individual with his 20th bull’s eye of the season this past weekend.
Ighalo equaled his best ever scoring record in a single season after scoring twice for Yatai against John Mikel Obi’s Tianjin Teda on Saturday.
He took only 11 minutes to open scoring, with his 19th goal of the season in the CSL, but had missed a glorious chance minutes earlier after getting up against only the goalkeeper.
A brace from Johnathan leveled the tie at 2-2 after 52 minutes but Ighalo converted another spot kick in the 65th minute, after he was fouled in the box.
The Changchun Yatai captain will now have a chance to set a new best scoring record in a single season after the latest international break when his club play at home against Beijing Guoan.
Ighalo’s best return in a single season was 20 goals he netted for Watford during the 2014-15 campaign in the English lower division, which was his debut season in England.
