Nigeria striker Osaguona Christian Ighodaro has set a 20-goal target for his new side Umm Salal for the upcoming Qatar Star League season.
He is expected to make his league debut against Al Sailiya at the Khalifa International Stadium on August 4.
The 27-year-old signed a one-year deal from Belgium side Westerlo.
“I have set a target of 20 league goals for Umm Salal. It’s an objective I hope to reach,” Ighodaro said to Footballlive.ng.
“I want to ensure that I score and create chances for my teammates. It’s a concerted effort and together we can make this club the best in Qatar.
“This is my first stint at the Middle East. I hope to make it a memorable one with goals and trophies,” he added.
Ighodaro had previously played for Buffles Parakou, Shooting Stars, Enugu Rangers, Raja Casablanca, Mechelen and Westerlo.
The lanky striker has 5 international caps for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
