Former home-based Eagles midfielder, Ikenna Hilary has predicted victory for his club, Kano Pillars, against Rangers International of Enugu in this year’s Federation Cup final.
With the game now fixed to hold Wednesday, October 24 at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Delta State, Ikenna told footballlive.ng he hopes to put up a good performance if fielded for the game.
Ikenna recounted how he got his national team bow under late Eagles former skipper and coach, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi en route to bronze at the 2014 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) in South Africa.
The battling holding midfielder, who has also starred for Shooting Stars of Ibadan as well as clubs in Malta, Spain and Portugal, believes playing in a stadium named after Keshi should spur him to shine against Rangers.
Ikenna enthused: “I am happy that my team qualified for the final. I hear we will now meet Rangers in the final, and the final is in Asaba.
“That stadium is named after my former coach in the national team, Stephen Keshi, The Boss. I am sure his spirit will help me and Kano Pillars win the Federation Cup final in Asaba.”
