Newly promoted NPFL side Ikorodu City FC has officially announced the signing of prolific striker Tony Obia from SKE Football Club, Port Harcourt.
In a video shared on the club’s Instagram page, Ikorodu City expressed their excitement, writing, “Absolutely delighted to introduce striker Tony Obia @obiatony36 into the fold from SKE Football Club.”
Obia made a significant impact last season with Inter Lagos, where he finished as the club’s top scorer and assist leader across all competitions.
The club’s official statement highlighted his remarkable performance: “The striker made a huge impact last season with club rivals and neighbours, Inter Lagos, scoring a total of 15 goals and 12 assists in 27 games for the Inter Lawa side.
“With 27 goal contributions for the side, he finished the season as the top scorer and assist leader in all competitions for Inter Lagos and now makes the switch to the other side of Lagos.
“Obia joins on a one year contract and is expected to lead the line and play a crucial role in Ikorodu City’s debut season under head coach Bright Ozebagbe in the Nigeria Premier Football League.”
