Rangers International FC coach Fidelis Ilechukwu has announced plans to add new players for next season’s CAF Champions League.
This follows an outstanding season in which they won the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title.
The Flying Antelopes defeated Gombe United 2-1 on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at the New Jos Stadium, Jos, in the last league encounter of the season which secured them a total of seventy points in the 2023/2024 NPFL season.
In a press conference after the match, Ilechukwu stated, “We hope to get a few legs to add to this team to challenge for both domestic and continental honors next season effectively.”
He also dedicated the team’s league triumph to the Enugu State Government and fans of the club, saying, “This is a great day for all of us in Rangers, and we give God the glory.
This is a victory for the government and people of Enugu State, who supported us through thick and thin until we became champions of the Nigeria Premier Football League.”
Rangers will participate in the CAF Champions League next season, aiming to win the competition for the first time since 2004, when a Nigerian club, Enyimba, last claimed the title.
