Enugu Rangers manager, Fidelis Ilechukwu expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance and highlighted the importance of their victory over Lobi Stars in boosting the team’s confidence. The Flying Antelopes extended their unbeaten run to six games with a hard-fought 2-1 victory.
Veteran forward Godwin Obaje and Kingsley Maduforo secured a 2-0 lead for Rangers before Samuel Tiza reduced the deficit for Lobi Stars. In a post-match interview, Ilechukwu acknowledged the intense battle between both sides but emphasized his team’s determination and effort in securing the win.
“It was a great fight from both sides, but we did our best, which I believe gave us the victory we really worked for, and we thank God for that,” stated Ilechukwu. He also highlighted the significance of defeating one of the best teams in Nigeria, particularly considering Lobi Stars’ position on the league table.
“The victory shows that Rangers are coming up gradually, and I am very happy about this win,” added Ilechukwu. The victory not only extends Rangers’ unbeaten streak but also serves as a confidence booster for the team as they continue their campaign.
