Ilori Heads Back To Sporting Lisbon

Date:

Reading of England defender, Tiago Ilori is heading back to his former club, Sporting Lisbon of Portugal, as the former Liverpool stopper seeks a career revival in his adopted country.

Footballive.ng gathered that the Nigerian-born lad had a medical at the Lisbon club early Monday, ahead of sealing a permanent switch in the Portuguese capital.

The 25-year-old joined The Royals two years ago from Liverpool, where he struggled to make an impact after arriving from Emmanuel Amuneke’s former club in a £7m deal in 2013.

Ilori, who has made 22 appearances for the English Championship outfit this season, is set for a long-term deal back at Sporting SC.
