AC Milan winger, Samuel Chukwueze is exited at his contribution to his team’s 3-1 victory over Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League.
The win marks Milan’s first triumph in the competition this season after losing to Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen in the previous two matches.
Chukwueze, who came on as a substitute in the 60th minute, replacing Rafael Leão, made an immediate impact.
The 25-year-old Nigerian set up Tijjani Reijnders to seal Milan’s third goal of the night, providing a much-needed boost to the team.
Reflecting on the match, Chukwueze spoke about his recent challenges and how the performance has reignited his confidence.
“It’s a great moment, having this confidence. I’ve had a difficult month and scoring, finding an assist is a great feeling and gives me confidence,” Chukwueze said.
“Very very important for the team and for the club. We won and we have the chance to climb the table.”
AC Milan’s next Champions League challenge is a high-stakes clash against defending champions Real Madrid.
Chukwueze acknowledged the significance of the upcoming fixture but emphasized the importance of focusing on their next domestic game.
“I hope to win against Madrid, it’s important to gain points in the standings. But now the most important thing is to focus on the next match, against Bologna.”
During his time with Villarreal in La Liga, Chukwueze consistently delivered standout performances against Real Madrid and Fans will be hoping the winger can replicate that form when Milan faces the Spanish giants.
With his recent upturn in form, Chukwueze looks poised to become a key player for Milan this season as they push for success in both Europe and Serie A.
