Victor Moses adapted to a different style of football the last two seasons at Chelsea and got specific instructions to the Manager, as explained by club teammate, Marcos Alonso.
Alonso, returned to the new season with Chelsea in his familiar full-back position, however for Moses, the story isn’t hasn’t been rosy.
The Nigerian will be deployed as a Winger; his natural position, but he will fall behind Willian and Pedro in that role.
Speaking about the difference between the roles he and Moses played under Antonio Conte, last season, and currently with Maurizio Sarri, Alonso said, ‘Perhaps with Conte I was closer to the other team’s goal. He liked both wingbacks to get very high up the pitch.
‘Now it is more about the element of surprise, arriving from deep and doing it when the other fullback has not gone forward. It depends on how the game is going. If the team needs help then we take more risks.’
