Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna is thrilled to add former Super Eagles winger Sone Aluko to his coaching team.
The newly promoted Premier League club confirmed Aluko’s appointment as one of their their first-team coaching staff on Monday.
The 35-year-old retired from football at the end of last season, having scored four goals in 62 appearances for the Blues. He had previously played for Rangers, Hull, Fulham, and Reading.
Sone Aluko was one of ten Town players to begin a bespoke UEFA B coaching course offered by the PFA last year, and he spent most of last season assisting the analysis team.
“We’re delighted to add Sone to our coaching team,” McKenna said on the club’s official website. “His work ethic and values have been important for the club over the last few years, and we know he will continue to bring those qualities to his new role.”
McKenna also praised Aluko’s strong relationships with the players and staff at Ipswich Town, and the significant addition he will be to the team.
