Ismaheel Heroics Not Enough as Gornik Stumble

Nigerian winger, Taofeek Ismaheel registered his first goal involvements of the new season, unfortunately it was not enough as Gornik Zabre fell against Cracovia. Gornik registered their second defeat of the league season in a 3-2 loss against table toppers, Cracovia at the Marshal Jozef Pilsudski Stadium.

 

Ismaheel kickstarted things by creating the opening goal of the fixture in the 20th minute, as Damian Rasak gave Gornik the lead. Filip Rozga got the hosts back on level terms within six minutes, capitalizing on a chance created by Benjamin Kallman.

In the 32nd minute, Gornik retook the lead with Ismaheel the finisher in this instance, finishing off an Erik Janza creation, to give the away side the halftime lead.

 

The second half started off wrongly for Gornik as Rafal Janicki got sent off for a last man foul, reducing them to 10 men. The home side took the numerical advantage, and scored twice in the 72nd and 75th minute courtesy of Ajdin Hasic, and an own goal from Manu Sanchez. Gornik had another man sent off three minutes from time as Kryspin Szczesniak got his marching orders for yet another last man foul.

 

Gornik are currently 9th on the log, and will prepare themselves to play Lechia in their next game at home.
