Iwobi Gives Arsenal All-round Balance – Emery

Date:

Arsenal coach, Unai Emery has revealed another strong tactical value of the club’s Nigerian star, Alex Iwobi, as the gaffer says the Super Eagles playmaker gives his side balance in several aspects during matches.

Although Iwobi now prefers playing through the middle as a creative player with the Eagles, footballlive.ng reports that he is employed mostly as a left-sided winger by Emery, with special duties to support attack, midfield and defence.

It might appear to be asking too much from the youngster, but Emery has now come out to hail Iwobi’s multi-tasking abilities, which the gaffer says has aided The Gunners’ massive unbeaten run to a large extent.

Speaking in  the wake of The Gunners’ 2-1 victory away to Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon in the English Premier League, Emery declared that Iwobi and Sead Kolasinac showed immense teamwork for the side.

Iwobi played an advanced role diown the left flank, support through the middle by Kolasinac, and they were both involved in the winning goal by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, which Emery said was a good combination.

The Gunners’ coach posited: “There was Sead Kolasinac and Alex Iwobi which is a very interesting combination.

”Also when we are pushing with Hector Bellerin wide we need some players for balance.
”The most important thing for us is finding balance in the defensive moments because we are conceding more goals than we want.

“But, we don’t want to lose our good performances in attacking moments with scoring and the players performances.”
