Iwobi, Iheanacho, Ighalo Shine In Eagles’ Training

Date:

Arsenal attacker, Alex Iwobi was in sensational form with the Super Eagles during training on Saturday, while Leicester City forward, Kelechi Iheanacho and Changchun Yatai of China striker, Odion Jude Ighalo also showed good promise ahead of next Saturday’s World Cup group opener against Croatia.

In what appeared like determination on the part of the Nigerian attackers to put an end to their drought in front of goal during recent friendlies, Iwobi, Iheanacho and Ighalo were at their best during the early training session, which held behind closed doors at the Eagles’ training camp in Avita Resort, Bad Tatzmannsdorf, Austria.

The players started the session, which began at 10am, with the usual warm-up exercises before they rounded off with a practice game between Team A and Team B, which lasted twenty-five minutes each half.

The training game ended 3-1, with Iwobi netting one and Ighalo, who hit two, writing their names on the score-sheet for Team A, while Iheanacho pulled one back for Team B.

Two days before their trip to their base camp in Yessentuki, the Eagles will train again on Saturday evening, starting from 5pm, with entry again restricted from the public and media.

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) want the players and coaches to be fully focused before their trip to Russia for the World Cup and did not allow fans to watch or the media to cover the team’s morning session.
