Arsenal attacker, Alex Iwobi has more value at the London club than only a starting role, as The Gunners’ gaffer, Unai Emery revealed that the Super Eagles star provide a credible tactical alternative for Mesut Ozil.
Footballlive.ng can report that Iwobi has started only once in Arsenal’s last last four English Premier League, but Emery has doused any thought of the lad losing relevance in the squad.
Rather than rate the Super Eagles star low, after last starting him in a 3-2 loss to Southampton, Emery says telling Iwobi to get off the bench in the 1-1 draw with Brighton was confirmation of the lad’s value.
Indeed, Iwobi went on for Ozil at American Express Community Stadium on Wednesday evening, but Emery says it was not punishment for any of the two players, only a tactical change.
Emery expatiated: ”It was only tactically. We did it before, to change the idea from the first half with other players. I did it with Mesut (and Iwobi against Brighton), that is only tactically, not another problem.”
