Iwobi wins EPL’s battle of the Brothers

Super Eagles winger, Alex Iwobi won the battle of the brothers in the English Premier League as Arsenal beat Leicester City 3 – 1 in a game that saw Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho start for the 2016 champions in Monday night football.

Iwobi who has been in superb form under Unai Emery this season started for the gunners while Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi also began the game for Leicester who started the game on a bright note with Iheanacho testing the home side’s defense on several occasions in the first half and Arsenal right back Hector Bellerin referring to him as a tough customer in his post match interview on Skysports.

Wilfred Ndidi in the early minutes of the game bossed the midfield, winning the ball from his international team mate (Iwobi) on more than one occasion and was also instrumental in Leicester’s goal in the game which was credited to Hector Bellerin as an own goal.

Iwobi’s performance in the match earned him the man of the match award in a game that was not short of options for the award. Iwobi’s deft touches and incredible dribbling skills stands him out as one of Arsenal’s most consistent star so far this season.

Despite being unable to get a goal nor assist in the match, Iwobi clocking 90 minutes in a difficult game and his overall creativity was instrumental in the gunners win over Ndidi and Iheanacho’s Leicester City.

Arsenal will next play Sporting Lisbon on Thursday in the UEFA Europa League away from home.
