Super Eagles winger, Alex Iwobi has come out to commiserate with his teammate Danny Welbeck on the injury he picked up in Arsenal’s goalless draw against Sporting Lisbon at the Emirates stadium on Thursday night, footballlive.ng can report.
Despite ending goalless at Emirates Stadium, the Gunners secured a place in the last 32, but the mood of the match was significantly overshadowed by the 27-year-old England international’s ankle injury.
Iwobi who saw 90 minutes of action in the game took to his Instagram account to join million of fans around the world in relaying his heartfelt message to the forward also thanking the fans for their support in the team’s draw against the Portuguese club. “Doesn’t always go your way, but we will always fight … Thank you for your support again. Wishing my bro @dannywelbeck a speedy recovery.”
One of Alex Iwobi’s biggest fan, his father Chuka Iwobi also joined the high flying Arsenal star in wishing Danny Welbeck the best in his recovery process. “Really sad that Danny Welbeck picked up an injury. Danny you are a fantastic player with a great work ethic. You will come back stronger. The Iwobi Family wish you a speedy recovery.”
