Iwobi’s Early Return To Training Excites Emery

Date:

Arsenal attacker, Alex Iwobi has given The Gunners’ gaffer, Unai Emery good news ahead of Wednesday’s English Premier League clash with Bournemouth, as the the Super Eagles star returned to full training.

Footballlive.ng gathered that, in contrast with initial fears that Iwobi could miss the midweek fixture, after copping a knock last weekend, the lad gave Emery to get excited about by involving in Tuesday’s drills.

Iwobi trained fully with his Arsenal teammates at London Colney in St Albans, in a move that would thrill all fans of the youngster, who had previously missed EPL games against Cardiff City and Newcastle United due to illness earlier in the season.

Emery is now looking forward to another outstanding outing by Iwobi, who was in form for The Gunners against Southampton on Sunday, until injury forced his replacement in the 75th minute.

The Spanish gaffer could be tempted to once again start the lad, who has two goals and three assists in his last ten league games for Arsenal, as he helped The Gunners to six wins and a draw.

Heading into Wednesday’s tie with Bournemouth, Emery says he is happy to have Iwobi available and hailed the lad’s current form, but admitted The Gunners’ former under-21 team captain must keep on working hard in order to get better and be consistent.

”I am very happy and I think he is working a lot to improve and he has energy, he has quality, he has things to improve. But he can do that.

“We have to be demanding with him and he himself be demanding to improve the things that he can get better at in his qualities.

”When he’s getting into the attacking third, into the box, to be calm to decide the last action with assists and scoring more.

“But he is giving us a lot of attacking moments and opening space for other players when they are arriving to the ball,” Emery submitted.
