Paderborn 07 defender Jamilu Collins has explained why he in particular is looking forward to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier Group E game with Libya this weekend.
Nigeria are third on the standings with three points from two games, one adrift leaders Libya.
They host the Mediterranean Knights this Saturday afternoon and for defender Jamilu Collins, it is an opportunity for the Super Eagles to leapfrog their foes on the log.
“With games like this there is nothing that needs explaining, because everybody knows about this, we have to win in order to go past them on the log,” Jamilu Collins remarked to Footballlive.ng.
“It is a special week, we know. We are going to prepare for this game with maximum intensity. We are playing in our stadium and it is a crucial fixture.
“We will go at them, we want to win and we need the points because the situation is currently a little complicated for us.
“There is no need to talk of Libya, it is not necessary, I think if we play our game and if we are on the pitch as we should be, we will not need to speak of anyone. We are at home this weekend, in these two rounds we expect two tough games and we know what the situation is, what we have in mind.
“We do not need to talk much, we will try and we will be ready.”
Nigeria will host the first leg at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Saturday 13th October with the return leg scheduled for the 18,000-capacity Stade Taïeb Mhiri in the city of Sfax, Tunisia on Tuesday 16th October.
