Paris Saint-Germain has officially announced and unveiled the signing of Nigerian international striker, Jennifer Onyi Echegini, who has signed a 3-year deal with the French club till June 2027.
Born in Nijmegen, Netherlands, and nicknamed ‘Joe,’ Echegini began her football journey in England, playing for Millwall Lionesses FC and Arsenal.
In 2019, she moved to the United States to join the University of Mississippi before transferring to Florida State in 2022. During her final season in American university football, the 23-year-old led her team to the NCAA Championship in 2023, lifting the Herman title as the winner and earning awards such as best forward and best player in the ACC.
Earlier this year, Echegini signed with Juventus, scoring 10 goals and providing one assist in 16 matches, and was named in the league’s Team of the Year and best newcomer of the season.
With the Nigerian national team, she has earned 10 caps and scored one goal, including participating in the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
