Joe Aribo Suffers Defeat To Ola Aina’s Nottingham Forest

Date:

Joe Aribo and newly promoted side, Southampton continue a nightmare return to the English Premier League as they suffered their second defeat in as many games.

Their season opener ended in a narrow loss to Newcastle United at St. James’ Park, failing to take advantage of 10-men Magpies.

Southampton were once again defeated by a single goal, scored by Morgan Gibbs-White at St. Mary’s Stadium in their second match.

This leaves the club without a point so far this season.

Nottingham Forest, featuring Nigerian teammates, Taiwo Awoniyi (injured) and Ola Aina, secured all three points in the Saturday afternoon clash.

Southampton pressed for an equalizer, with Joe Aribo making some attacking runs and Kyle Walker-Peters seeing a deflected shot go behind for a corner, but they were unable to break through and remained goalless for the season.
