A goal from Super Eagles midfielder Joel Obi was not enough for Chievo Verona to get it’s first win of the season in the Serie A as they played out a 2 – 2 draw against Bologna on Sunday.
Federico Santander scored the opener in the 3rd minute for Bologna after a defensive mix up from the home side. Chievo’s Riccardo Meggiorini converted from the penalty spot in the 20th minute and Obi at the stroke of halftime gave Chievo the lead. Ricardo Oslolini ensured the game ended in a draw when he scored the equalizer for Bologna in the 56th minute.
With the draw Chievo Verona remains bottom of the Serie A table with zero points after club were found guilty of accounting irregularities.
The club was locked three points and fined 200,000 euros after they were found to have to have inflated the value of some transfer dealings with Serie D side Cesena.
Chievo are yet to win a match in the Serie A this season in 12 games losing nine and three draws.
