Chelsea of England youngster, Jordan Aina is set to enjoy from the wealth of talent and experience of The Blues’ legend, Joe Cole, who has been added to the London club’s youth team’s crew.
Footballlive.ng can report that Torino star, Ola Aina’s younger brother, Jordan, is one of three Nigerian-born lads who will train under Cole in the coming days.
The other two are Faustino Anjorin and Tariq Uwakwe, but Aina will be closer to Cole, as he is still in the Chelsea under-18 squad, while his compatriots are with the under-23 side.
Consequently, Aina will tap from the tactics and mentoring on offer from Cole, who will return to Stamford Bridge at the start of the coming year as a technical hand in The Blues’ academy.
Cole, who was on the same Chelsea team that won the English Premier League title with Super Eagles’ captain, John Mikel Obi in the 2009/10 season, will work with various age groups for six months, as he seeks coaching badges.
Aina, Anjorin and Uwakwe will, therefore, benefit from having Cole as a mentor and instructor until the end of the current season.
Chelsea’s head of youth development, Neil Bath expatiated: ”Joe will work across a number of age groups and with various staff to ensure he gets to experience the full range of our programme.
”I’m sure sharing his experiences and football knowledge, combined with his obvious passion for the game, will help enormously with the development of our young players.’
